With more twists and turns than the run up to the US presidential elections, the enigmatic Ursula 1000's new remix cd certainly impressed this floating voter and it's sure to be top of the polls after is release in early March 2008.
But unlike Obama, Clinton or those robotic republican bods whose names escape me this cd has genuine class, creativity and quality in abundance largely due to the excellent source material provided by Mr 1000 - aka Alex Gimeno - and the superb choice of remixed hired to spice up some already flaming dancefloor numbers.
The remixer diversity means there is something for everyone no matter whether you intend to buy the cd to listen at home, or you are a DJ in need of some fresh new club anthems. As a DJ and home listener I can say that all ten tracks are good for both environs. My favourites are the Skeewiff remix of 'Boop', the All Good Funk Alliance remix of 'Kaboom' and the Product.01 remix of 'Electrick Boogie'. That's not to say that the other songs aren't good. I really enjoyed Ladytrons interpretation of 'Urgent/Anxious' and there others by Jstar and Fort Knox Five too. Unlike Sam Allardyce's recent exit from Newcastle United you will probably have this for more than 8 months before you get bored of it so don't miss out and get it in March.
